AWS announces new AWS Data Transfer Terminal location in Munich

AWS has opened its first Data Transfer Terminal outside the United States, located in Munich, Germany within the Equinix MU1 facility.

  • Provides a secure physical location for uploading large data sets to AWS services
  • Supports data transfer to Amazon S3, Amazon EFS, and other storage services
  • Uses high-throughput network connections for fast data migration
  • Targets industries like automotive, media, financial services, and agriculture
  • Enables quick data processing using AWS services like Athena, SageMaker, and EC2

The new Munich terminal allows customers to rapidly transfer and process large data sets, reducing processing time from weeks to minutes.
