Amazon CloudWatch and Application Signals MCP servers for AI-assisted troubleshooting

AWS has announced two new Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers for CloudWatch and Application Signals to enhance AI-assisted troubleshooting:

  • CloudWatch MCP server enables AI agents to:
    • Perform alarm-based incident response
    • Analyze metrics
    • Detect log patterns
  • Application Signals MCP server allows:
    • Service health monitoring via SLOs
    • Automated root cause analysis using OpenTelemetry
  • Key benefits include:
  • Natural language troubleshooting interactions
  • Intelligent AI-driven problem diagnosis
  • Reduced development time for API integrations

Both servers are available open-source in the AWS Labs MCP repository, supporting troubleshooting across AWS regions.
