AWS has announced a new feature for Amazon SageMaker Studio that allows developers to remotely connect to SageMaker development environments using Visual Studio Code.
- Developers can now use their customized local VS Code setup with SageMaker's compute resources
- Authentication can be done via AWS Toolkit extension or SageMaker Studio's web interface
- Enables rapid connection to development environments in minutes
- Maintains the same security boundaries as SageMaker Studio's web-based environments
- Currently available in the US East (Ohio) Region
This feature provides AI developers with more flexibility and convenience in model development by leveraging their preferred VS Code environment with SageMaker's powerful cloud resources.
