News

AWS has expanded AWS Glue Data Quality to support data quality monitoring for Amazon S3 Tables and AWS Lake Formation managed Iceberg tables, enabling organizations to improve data integrity and consistency.

  • Previously, data quality checks were not possible on these table types
  • Users can now use AWS Glue Data Catalog UI or AWS Glue Quality APIs to:
    • Get data quality rule recommendations
    • Evaluate rules
    • View data quality scores
  • Scores integrate with Amazon SageMaker Catalog to help identify high-quality data assets
  • Supports ETL pipelines, machine learning models, and generative AI applications
  • Available in multiple AWS regions across US, Europe, and Asia Pacific

This enhancement provides data consumers with more robust tools for assessing and leveraging data quality across different table formats.
