Amazon QuickSight now supports connectivity to Apache Impala

Amazon QuickSight has announced general availability of a native Apache Impala connector, enabling users to connect to this massively parallel processing (MPP) SQL query engine running on Apache Hadoop.

  • Users can connect to Impala using username/password credentials
  • Data can be imported directly into SPICE (QuickSight's in-memory optimization engine)
  • Connector is available across multiple global regions, including:
    • North America (US East/West, Canada)
    • South America (Sao Paulo)
    • Europe (multiple countries)
    • Asia Pacific (multiple countries)
    • Africa (South Africa)

This new connector expands QuickSight's data connectivity options, making it easier for users to analyze data from Apache Hadoop environments.
