AWS Management Console now supports assigning a color to an AWS account for easier identification

News

AWS has introduced a new feature in the AWS Management Console that allows customers to assign colors to their AWS accounts for easier identification.

  • Account admins can now assign colors to their AWS accounts (e.g., red for production, yellow for testing)
  • The chosen color appears in the Console's navigation bar for all authorized users
  • Helps quickly distinguish between multiple accounts used for different environments or business units
  • Color can be set through the 'Account' option in the account menu
  • Requires specific permissions to view the account color

This feature simplifies account management by providing a visual cue to quickly identify different AWS accounts at a glance.
