Amazon OpenSearch Service has introduced support for I8g instances, a new generation of storage-optimized instances designed for high-performance workloads.
- Powered by AWS Graviton4 processors, offering up to 60% better compute performance than I4g instances
- Uses third-generation AWS Nitro SSDs with up to 65% better real-time storage performance
- Provides up to 50% lower storage I/O latency and 60% lower latency variability
- Supports all OpenSearch versions and Elasticsearch versions 7.9 and 7.10
- Available in multiple regions including US East, US West, Canada, Europe, and Asia Pacific
The new I8g instances are built on the AWS Nitro System, enhancing performance and security for storage-intensive workloads.
