AWS has announced significant updates to its certification portfolio, focusing on AI and security certifications:
- New AWS Certified Generative AI Developer – Professional certification launching in November 2025
- Retirement of AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty certification on March 31, 2026
- Updated AWS Certified Security – Specialty exam (SCS-C03) with expanded coverage of generative AI and machine learning security
- Beta exam for Generative AI Developer certification will be 204 minutes long with 85 questions
- Exam Prep Plan will be available on AWS Skill Builder with practice assessments and hands-on training
