Amazon EBS introduces additional performance monitoring metrics for EBS volumes
News
Amazon EBS has introduced two new CloudWatch metrics to enhance performance monitoring for EBS volumes:
- VolumeAvgIOPS: Provides average I/O operations per second
- VolumeAvgThroughput: Shows average throughput of EBS volumes
- Metrics available at 1-minute frequency at no additional cost
- Supported for EBS volumes on EC2 Nitro instances in all Commercial AWS Regions
- Enables troubleshooting performance bottlenecks and optimizing volume performance
These new metrics allow users to create custom CloudWatch dashboards and set alarms to monitor and manage EBS volume performance more effectively.
