Amazon FSx has introduced a new integration with AWS Secrets Manager for managing Active Directory domain service account credentials for FSx for Windows File Server and FSx for NetApp ONTAP Storage Virtual Machines.
- Users can now specify AWS Secrets Manager secrets for Active Directory credentials instead of storing plain text credentials
- Improves security by eliminating direct credential storage in application code or configuration files
- Enables credential rotation through AWS Secrets Manager
- Available in all AWS Regions where FSx services are supported
- Applies to both FSx for Windows File Server and FSx for NetApp ONTAP
This integration enhances security and credential management for organizations using Amazon FSx with Active Directory domains.
