This article announces JWT Verification support for AWS Application Load Balancer (ALB), enabling secure machine-to-machine and service-to-service communications.
- ALB can now verify JSON Web Tokens in request headers without code changes
- Validates token signatures, expiration times, and claims automatically
- Offloads OAuth 2.0 token validation from applications to ALB
- Supports Client Credentials Flow and other OAuth 2.0 flows
- Reduces architectural complexity for microservices and API security
- Available in all AWS Regions where ALB is supported
