This article announces AWS Certificate Manager (ACM) now supports automated certificate management for Kubernetes workloads through AWS Controllers for Kubernetes (ACK).
- ACM automates certificate provisioning, distribution, and renewal for Kubernetes workloads
- Eliminates manual certificate export, Secret creation, and renewal processes
- Supports both public and private certificates from ACM and AWS Private CA
- Enables TLS termination in application pods and service mesh communication
- Works with Amazon EKS and other Kubernetes environments, including hybrid and edge
- Available in all commercial, GovCloud (US), and China regions where ACM exists
This integration simplifies certificate lifecycle management for Kubernetes by automating previously manual steps, enabling native Kubernetes API-based certificate management.
