Announcing increased 1 MB payload size support in Amazon EventBridge

This article announces that Amazon EventBridge now supports 1 MB event payloads, up from the previous 256 KB limit.

  • Event payload size increased from 256 KB to 1 MB
  • Enables ingestion of richer, more complex event data
  • Eliminates need to split, compress, or externalize data
  • Supports large language model prompts and machine learning outputs
  • Available in all commercial AWS Regions except select Asia Pacific and Mexico locations

This enhancement simplifies event-driven architectures by allowing comprehensive data in single events, reducing architectural complexity.
