Amazon WorkSpaces Applications extends support for 4K resolution

This article announces that Amazon WorkSpaces Applications now supports 4K resolution on non-accelerated instances and all connection modes.
- 4K (4096 x 2160) resolution now available on non-accelerated instance types
- Supported across all client connection modes and application modes
- Previously limited to graphics-accelerated instances in classic mode
- Enables consistent high-quality streaming regardless of hardware acceleration
- Particularly beneficial for ultra-wide 21:9 aspect ratio 4K monitors
- Available at no additional cost in all AWS regions
- Requires WorkSpaces Applications agent released February 4, 2026 or later
This enhancement allows customers to leverage existing hardware investments while providing improved visual quality across all WorkSpaces Applications deployment options.
