This article announces API-driven Slurm configuration support for Amazon SageMaker HyperPod, enabling direct cluster configuration management.
- Define Slurm topology and filesystem configurations via cluster create/update APIs or AWS Console
- Specify Slurm node types (Controller, Login, Compute) and instance group to partition mappings
- Configure FSx for Lustre and FSx for OpenZFS filesystem mounts per instance group
- New SlurmConfigStrategy manages configuration drift with Managed, Overwrite, and Merge options
- Automatically detects partition-to-node mapping drift during scale operations
- Available in all AWS Regions where SageMaker HyperPod is available
