This article announces that AWS SageMaker Training Plans now supports extending existing GPU capacity commitments without requiring workload reconfiguration.

  • Extend training plans by 1-day increments up to 14 days
  • Extend training plans by 7-day increments up to 182 days (26 weeks)
  • Extensions available via API or SageMaker console
  • Workloads continue running uninterrupted after extension purchase
  • No manual reconfiguration needed when extending capacity
  • Reserves GPU capacity in clusters up to 64 instances

SageMaker Training Plans now provides greater flexibility for AI workloads that exceed anticipated timelines, ensuring continuous access to reserved capacity without operational disruption.
