AWS DataSync now supports AWS Secrets Manager for all location types

This article announces AWS DataSync now supports AWS Secrets Manager for credential management across all location types, expanding previous limited integration.

• Secrets Manager integration now available for HDFS, FSx Windows, and FSx NetApp ONTAP
• Centralize credential management across all DataSync locations in one place
• Encrypt credentials with custom AWS KMS keys instead of AWS-owned defaults
• Two credential management approaches: manual ARN reference or automatic DataSync management
• Full control over credential rotation, auditing, and access policies
• Available in majority of AWS regions where DataSync is offered

DataSync users can now manage credentials consistently across all location types using Secrets Manager, improving security and governance compliance.
