Amazon WorkSpaces Personal now supports unique DNS names for PrivateLink

News

This article announces that Amazon WorkSpaces Personal now supports unique DNS names for PrivateLink VPC endpoints, enabling multi-account and multi-VPC deployments without DNS conflicts.

  • Each PrivateLink VPC endpoint receives a globally unique AWS-managed DNS name
  • Eliminates DNS name collisions across multiple AWS accounts and VPCs
  • Enables secure multi-account WorkSpaces Personal directory deployments
  • DNS names resolve to private IPs accessible only within respective VPCs
  • AWS automatically manages DNS names throughout their lifecycle
  • No additional Route 53 or custom DNS configuration required
  • Available in all AWS regions where PrivateLink is supported
  • Backward compatible with existing DNS configurations

This enhancement simplifies multi-account WorkSpaces deployments while maintaining security isolation and eliminating previous DNS resolution conflicts.
