This article announces AWS Compute Optimizer's expanded support for 162 new EC2 instance types and 32 new RDS DB instance classes.

  • Supports latest EC2 generations: C8a, C8gb, C8i, C8i-flex, C8id, M8a, M8azn, M8gb, M8gn, M8id, R8a, R8gb, R8gn, R8id, x8i, i7i
  • Adds RDS support for M7i, M8g, R8g, X1, Z1d DB instance classes
  • Covers RDS for MySQL, PostgreSQL, Aurora MySQL, and Aurora PostgreSQL
  • Enables optimization recommendations for EC2 Auto Scaling groups
  • Available in all AWS Regions except GovCloud and China regions
  • Accessible via AWS Management Console, CLI, and SDK

Compute Optimizer now helps customers optimize costs and performance using the latest generation instance types across EC2 and RDS services.
