Amazon Quick Adds Custom Sort for Filter Controls
News
This article announces custom sort functionality for filter controls in Amazon QuickSight, allowing authors to control the order of dropdown and list values instead of defaulting to alphabetical sorting.
- Custom sort available for single-select and multi-select dropdown and list controls
- Authors can choose ascending, descending, or fully user-defined sort order
- Sort by dataset column or different field using aggregation functions (Sum, Average, Count, Min, Max)
- Enables business-relevant ordering, such as priority levels or product ranking by revenue
- Feature available in all regions where QuickSight is supported
Custom sort gives QuickSight authors greater control over filter presentation, improving user experience by surfacing the most relevant options first.
