- Customers can reference existing AWS Secrets Manager secret ARNs in AgentCore Identity Credential Providers
- Replaces previous service-managed secret approach with customer-managed secrets
- Enables custom encryption keys, tagging, automatic rotation, and resource policies
- Provides full ownership of secret creation, classification, and governance
- Generally available in 14 AWS regions globally
This enhancement allows organizations with strict governance requirements to manage secrets according to their own compliance policies while using AgentCore Identity.
