Debug deployment failures faster with the Deployments tab in AWS Elastic Beanstalk
DevOps & Developer Productivity Blog
This article introduces the Deployments tab in AWS Elastic Beanstalk, a new feature that streamlines deployment troubleshooting and monitoring.
- Consolidated view of deployment history with real-time deployment logs in console
- Displays deployment events, logs, and error output without SSH or log bundle downloads
- Smart verbosity: summary messages on success, detailed error output on failure
- Logs capture dependency installation, builds, .ebextensions, platform hooks, and startup
- Available on Amazon Linux 2/2023 (March 11, 2026+) and Windows Server 2.23.0+
- One representative instance log shown; use Request Logs feature for multi-instance environments
- Real-time log streaming from S3 during deployment progress
The Deployments tab eliminates manual log bundle downloads and SSH connections, enabling faster root cause analysis of deployment failures directly in the console.
