Amazon Location Service announced enhancements to its Places APIs, giving developers greater control over address formatting, multilingual support, and location search capabilities.
- AddressNamesMode parameter controls address component name formatting (matched, normalized, or administrative)
- AddressTranslations parameter returns place names in 50+ languages for multilingual applications
- TravelMode parameter optimizes search results for navigation and in-vehicle scenarios
- DriveThrough attribute indicates whether places offer drive-through service
- Parsing.AdditionalInfo field provides details on address interpretation
- Available across 14 AWS regions globally
These enhancements enable developers to build more flexible, multilingual, and context-aware location-based applications.
