Amazon EKS Auto Mode now supports Application Recovery Controller zonal shift
News
Amazon EKS Auto Mode now supports Application Recovery Controller (ARC) zonal shift and autoshift, enabling automatic protection of compute during AZ impairments.
- EKS Auto Mode automatically shifts in-cluster traffic away from impaired AZs at no additional cost
- Stops provisioning new capacity in impaired zones and halts voluntary disruptions like consolidation
- Prevents voluntary disruptions in healthy zones that depend on scheduling to impaired zones
- Supports manual zonal shifts or AWS-managed autoshift with practice runs
- Available in all AWS Regions where EKS Auto Mode is offered
This integration simplifies high availability management for Kubernetes applications by eliminating manual configuration and permission management.
