Amazon Bedrock AgentCore now delivers unified observability by consolidating agent traces, prompts, and logs into a single CloudWatch log group per agent.
- Previously split telemetry across multiple log groups; traces went to shared aws/spans while logs went to resource-specific groups
- New unified approach delivers all telemetry to single per-agent log group: /aws/bedrock-agentcore/runtimes/<agent_id>-<endpoint_name>
- Enables correlation of traces and logs in one place for easier debugging
- Allows fine-grained IAM policies and CMK encryption scoped to individual agents
- New agents created July 20, 2026 onward use unified observability by default
- Existing agents require setting UNIFIED_TRACES_DESTINATION_ENABLED=true and upgrading ADOT to version 0.17.1+
- Available in all AWS commercial regions supporting AgentCore runtime
