This article announces multi-Region support for AWS IAM Identity Center when using Identity Center directory as the identity source.
- Replicate identities, entitlements, and configuration from primary Region to additional Regions
- Provides resilience: users retain access if primary Region experiences disruption
- Extends previous multi-Region capability from external identity providers to Identity Center directory
- Available in 17 enabled-by-default commercial AWS Regions
- Requires multi-Region customer managed KMS key for organization instances
- Application administrators can deploy applications in additional Regions independently
IAM Identity Center multi-Region support enhances business continuity and enables deployment aligned with data residency and user proximity requirements.
