AWS WAF adds pre-parse text transformations and new text transformations

AWS WAF adds pre-parse text transformations and ten new text transformations to help normalize request content for consistent inspection.

• Pre-parse transformations normalize raw query strings before parsing into key-value pairs, closing HTTP parameter pollution gaps
• Chain up to ten transformations including URL decode, Combine Duplicate Query Arguments, and Replace Semicolons with Ampersands
• New transformations include Uppercase, Trim, Remove Whitespace, SHA256, and OS-aware command line and JavaScript decoding
• Each new transformation consumes 10 WCUs with no additional charge beyond standard AWS WAF pricing
• Available in all AWS Regions

These enhancements enable AWS WAF to inspect requests the same way applications interpret them, improving security posture.
