News
Amazon CloudWatch announces managed Prometheus collectors that automatically collect Prometheus metrics from AWS infrastructure without deploying or managing agents.
- Eliminates need to deploy and maintain self-managed OpenTelemetry Collectors
- Supports EKS, EC2, ECS, MSK, and OpenSearch Service workloads
- Metrics delivered in OpenTelemetry format, queryable with PromQL
- Includes Kubernetes and DNS-based service discovery, direct instance scraping
- Automatic dashboards for EKS, MSK, and OpenSearch metrics
- Available in all AWS Regions with CloudWatch OTLP endpoint (except New Zealand)
Managed Prometheus collectors simplify metric collection by handling provisioning, scaling, and collection automatically while enabling unified monitoring across AWS services.
