Amazon Quick supports multi-dataset analytical capabiity

News

This article announces that Amazon QuickSight now supports multi-dataset topics, allowing users to model relationships across multiple datasets in a single topic for dashboards and natural language Q&A.

  • Define relationships once across multiple datasets; QuickSight performs joins at runtime
  • Single visual can draw fields from multiple datasets with automatic join generation
  • Natural language chat agents can query topics directly without pre-joining tables
  • One governed semantic model serves as single source of truth for people and agents
  • Existing dataset permissions and row/column-level security carry through all cross-dataset visuals
  • Generally available in all AWS Regions where QuickSight is available

Multi-dataset topics eliminate manual data preparation and JOIN logic, reducing SPICE capacity consumption and enabling reusable relational data models across dashboards and analytics.
