Amazon WorkSpaces now publishes enhanced observability metrics to CloudWatch, enabling IT administrators to gain deeper visibility into virtual desktop workloads.
- New metrics cover network performance, compute utilization, storage resource usage, and session lifecycle events
- TCP retransmission rate and congestion window metrics help identify network degradation
- GPU usage and CPU queue length surface compute bottlenecks
- Disk I/O queue lengths and memory page hard faults reveal disk saturation and memory pressure
- Administrators can set CloudWatch alarms, build custom dashboards, and reduce mean time to resolution
- Available in all AWS Regions where Amazon WorkSpaces is supported at no additional cost
These enhanced metrics enable proactive troubleshooting and fleet-wide visibility for improved end-user experience.
