Amazon VPC IPAM now supports BGP route protection monitoring and delegated RPKI for BYOIP prefixes

News

Amazon VPC IPAM now supports BGP route protection monitoring and delegated RPKI management for Bring Your Own IP (BYOIP) prefixes, enabling centralized security and automated Route Origin Authorization (ROA) management.

  • View RPKI validity status, ROA strength, and route overlap detection across accounts and regions from a single dashboard
  • Identify prefixes with invalid or missing ROAs and detect route overlaps indicating potential hijacking
  • Delegated RPKI automates ROA creation, renewal, and management after one-time Regional Internet Registry setup
  • Eliminates manual ROA management, WHOIS/DNS validation, and third-party monitoring tools
  • Available in all commercial AWS Regions except GovCloud and China regions

This feature streamlines BGP route security management by automating ROA lifecycle and providing centralized visibility across organizations.
