Deploying Anthropic Claude apps gateway for AWS for enterprise workloads

This article presents a production reference deployment of Claude apps gateway for AWS, a self-hosted governance layer for Claude Code and Claude Desktop that provides centralized controls over authentication, model access, cost attribution, and spend enforcement.

• Deploy gateway on AWS Fargate with Amazon RDS PostgreSQL for state, ALB for ingress, and VPC endpoints for private connectivity
• Authenticate developers through OIDC identity providers (Okta, Entra ID, Auth0, Cognito) with SSO and instant offboarding
• Enforce server-side model access policies scoped by identity provider groups with no client-side bypass
• Attribute per-user usage metrics via OpenTelemetry to CloudWatch, Datadog, Splunk, or Grafana
• Route inference to Amazon Bedrock or Claude Platform on AWS with automatic failover on unavailability
• Enforce per-user, per-group, and organization-wide spend caps with real-time circuit breaker enforcement
• Five deployment patterns support single-team, multi-team, hybrid, and multi-account architectures
