Amazon OpenSearch Service adds new Cluster Insights for faster diagnosis of cluster status

Amazon OpenSearch Service has expanded Cluster Insights with 17 new insights that automatically identify root causes of Red and Yellow cluster status and provide actionable remediation recommendations.

• Six Critical-severity insights detect conditions causing primary shards to become unassigned (Red status)
• Eleven Medium to Critical severity insights surface issues preventing replica shard allocation (Yellow status)
• Covers resource exhaustion scenarios including JVM out-of-memory and CPU saturation
• Identifies configuration issues such as zone imbalance and misconfigured replica counts
• Provides specific remediation recommendations like scaling instances or correcting shard allocation
• Available at no additional cost for OpenSearch 1.0+ and Elasticsearch 6.8+ across 11 global regions

These insights eliminate manual metric correlation, enabling faster diagnosis and resolution of cluster stability issues.
