This article announces API support for CloudFront flat-rate pricing plans, allowing programmatic management through AWS CLI, SDKs, CloudFormation, CDK, and the PricingPlanManager API.
- Subscribe, upgrade, downgrade, and cancel flat-rate plans programmatically instead of manually via console
- Flat-rate plans provide one monthly price covering global delivery, WAF, DDoS, DNS, logging, and edge compute
- No usage-based overage charges regardless of traffic spikes or attacks
- Paid plans support optional two-phase activation: create then approve before billing begins
- Free plans activate immediately without approval required
- No additional fees for using the API to manage pricing plans
Customers can now automate flat-rate pricing plan management through infrastructure as code and API workflows.
