Amazon MQ now supports RabbitMQ version 4.3, which introduces significant quorum queue enhancements and performance improvements.
- Quorum queues support compaction to reduce disk usage and 32 strict priority levels versus 2 in previous versions
- Native delayed retries automatically set failed messages aside and retry after configurable cooldown delays
- Consumer timeouts moved from global channels to quorum queues with protocol-specific configuration
- Both consumer timeouts and delayed retries manageable via RabbitMQ Policies
- Create new brokers using m7g instance type through AWS Management Console, CLI, or SDKs
- Amazon MQ automatically manages patch version upgrades for RabbitMQ 4.3 brokers
- Available in all regions supporting Amazon MQ m7g instances
