Amazon MQ now supports RabbitMQ 4.3

Amazon MQ now supports RabbitMQ version 4.3, which introduces significant quorum queue enhancements and performance improvements.

  • Quorum queues support compaction to reduce disk usage and 32 strict priority levels versus 2 in previous versions
  • Native delayed retries automatically set failed messages aside and retry after configurable cooldown delays
  • Consumer timeouts moved from global channels to quorum queues with protocol-specific configuration
  • Both consumer timeouts and delayed retries manageable via RabbitMQ Policies
  • Create new brokers using m7g instance type through AWS Management Console, CLI, or SDKs
  • Amazon MQ automatically manages patch version upgrades for RabbitMQ 4.3 brokers
  • Available in all regions supporting Amazon MQ m7g instances

RabbitMQ 4.3 on Amazon MQ delivers enhanced queue management, improved reliability, and better resource efficiency for message-driven applications.
