Amazon DocumentDB (with MongoDB compatibility) adds support for 5 MongoDB aggregation stages and change stream capabilities in version 8.0.2
News
Amazon DocumentDB (with MongoDB compatibility) now supports retryable writes, 5 new aggregation stages, and change stream enhancements in version 8.0.2, expanding MongoDB API compatibility and improving query performance.
- Retryable writes automatically retry insert, update, and delete operations on transient network errors
- New aggregation stages: $setWindowFields, $bucketAuto, $facet, $graphLookup, and correlated $lookup
- Change stream enhancements split large events over 16 MB and emit events for createCollection and createIndex
- Query performance improvements include index-only scans, index scans on $expr predicates, and faster count operations
- Support for reIndex command on partial indexes
These capabilities enable easier MongoDB workload migration to Amazon DocumentDB without application code changes.
