News

This article announces that Amazon Aurora serverless now supports up to 384 Aurora Capacity Units (ACUs) for Aurora PostgreSQL-Compatible Edition, doubling the maximum memory capacity to 768 GiB.

  • 50% increase from previous maximum of 256 ACUs per database
  • Each ACU provides approximately 2 GiB of memory with corresponding CPU and networking
  • Automatically scales down to zero when workload completes, ideal for agentic AI applications
  • Available for Aurora PostgreSQL versions 18.4, 17.10, 16.14, 15.18, and 14.23 on Platform Version 4
  • Existing clusters on Platform Version 4 can be modified with no downtime
  • Customers pay only for capacity consumed

Aurora serverless now handles more demanding workloads while maintaining automatic scaling and cost efficiency for unpredictable traffic patterns.
