Amazon IVS Low-Latency Streaming now provides a failover slate, an animated image displayed to viewers when a broadcaster's stream is unexpectedly interrupted.
- Failover slate replaces buffering wheels or frozen frames during stream interruptions
- Live playback resumes automatically without requiring viewers to refresh their player
- Ideal for broadcasters streaming from mobile devices or unreliable connectivity locations
- Can be enabled on new or existing channels
- Monitor slate activity using Amazon EventBridge events and CloudWatch metrics
The failover slate feature helps broadcasters retain audiences during momentary disruptions and improves viewer experience during connectivity issues.
