Introducing AWS Coding Plugin for SAP ABAP, powered by Kiro

SAP Blog

AWS releases the Coding Plugin for SAP ABAP, powered by Kiro, bringing spec-driven development (SDD) to ABAP developers working in Eclipse with SAP's ABAP Development Tools.

  • Collaborative agentic chat in Eclipse guides developers through design, implementation, and handoff phases
  • Builds specifications and designs solutions based on live SAP backend ABAP objects
  • Integrates with MCP servers for ticketing systems, documentation, and messaging
  • Supports ECC, S/4HANA, and BTP ABAP systems for clean core and RISE migrations
  • Low-friction setup using existing Eclipse connections without separate authentication
  • Requires Eclipse 2026-06+, SAP ADT 3.60+, and Kiro subscription; plugin available at no charge

The plugin reduces development time and defects by combining developer expertise with AI coding capabilities in a spec-first workflow.
