This article announces a free 500 Mbps tier for AWS Interconnect - multicloud, enabling private connectivity between AWS and other public clouds at no AWS charge.
- Free 500 Mbps multicloud Interconnect tier now available on AWS side
- Supports approximately 160 TB monthly data transfer for multicloud workloads
- Open specification adopted by Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud, and Microsoft Azure (coming 2026)
- Same network path, facility, and device resiliency as paid offerings
- Includes Amazon CloudWatch Network Synthetic Monitor at no extra cost
- Limited to one local Interconnect per customer, per AWS Region per CSP
- Access via AWS Direct Connect Console
