This article announces that Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MariaDB now support M8a database instances powered by 5th generation AMD EPYC processors.
- Each vCPU corresponds to a physical CPU core for consistent per-core performance
- M8a instances provide up to 75 Gbps network bandwidth and 60 Gbps EBS bandwidth for high I/O workloads
- Built on AWS Nitro System with sixth-generation Nitro Cards
- Available in US East, US West, Asia Pacific, and Europe regions
- Deployable via RDS Management Console or AWS CLI
