AWS IAM Identity Center Identity Store APIs now accept resource ARNs in addition to resource IDs
News
AWS IAM Identity Center's Identity Store APIs now accept Amazon Resource Names (ARNs) for users, groups, group memberships, and identity stores, in addition to resource IDs.
- ARN support is additive; existing integrations continue working unchanged
- Eliminates need to strip ARNs down to resource IDs before API calls
- Simplifies application code and reduces potential parsing errors
- Applies to all request identifier fields across the Identity Store API surface
- Responses continue returning resource IDs as before
- Available in all AWS Regions where IAM Identity Center is offered at no additional cost
This enhancement streamlines integration workflows for applications already working with ARNs from IAM policies, CloudTrail events, or cross-service integrations.
