Amazon ElastiCache for Valkey now publishes OpenTelemetry metrics to CloudWatch for node-based clusters with filterable attributes and PromQL support.

  • Standard monitoring publishes core OpenTelemetry metrics every 60 seconds at no additional charge
  • Detailed monitoring enables 15-second metric intervals for detecting short-lived events like latency spikes
  • Detect nodes nearing connection limits, break down errors by type, and forecast memory exhaustion
  • Run queries in CloudWatch and Grafana using existing PromQL skills
  • ElastiCache Insights pre-built dashboard powered by core OpenTelemetry metrics
  • Available for node-based Valkey clusters in all AWS Regions supporting CloudWatch OpenTelemetry
