AWS Shield Advanced has expanded its DDoS protection capabilities to include automatic application layer DDoS mitigation for Application Load Balancers (ALBs).
- Automatically identifies and isolates layer 7 DDoS event patterns
- Creates AWS WAF rules in web access control lists (ACLs)
- Allows rules to be implemented in count or block mode
- Provides metrics for detection, mitigation, and top contributors
- Available to AWS Shield Advanced subscribers at no additional cost
This enhancement enables faster response and mitigation of DDoS events that could potentially disrupt application availability.
