AWS CloudHSM is now PCI PIN certified

Blog

AWS CloudHSM has been certified for Payment Card Industry Personal Identification Number (PCI PIN) version 3.1, providing enhanced security and compliance capabilities for regulated workloads.

  • Certified by Coalfire, a third-party Qualified Security Assessor (QSA)
  • Offers FIPS 140-2 Level 3 certified hardware security modules (HSMs)
  • Provides single-tenant HSM instances in customer's own VPC
  • Reduces compliance overhead for regulated workloads
  • Customers can access the PCI PIN Attestation of Compliance (AOC) report through AWS Artifact

For direct payment operations, AWS recommends using AWS Payment Cryptography as a fully managed alternative for PCI-PIN compliance.
