Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL improves availability of read replicas

Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL has enhanced read replica availability during writer node operations:

  • Reader nodes can now continue serving read requests during writer node restarts
  • Reduces impact of configuration changes on database performance
  • Improves availability during planned maintenance and failover scenarios
  • Maintains read access when writer nodes are being restarted or reconfigured
  • Supports seamless reconnection of reader nodes to newly promoted writers

This update enhances Aurora PostgreSQL's reliability by minimizing service interruptions and maintaining continuous read access during database cluster operations.
