Important changes coming for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.5 targets of the AWS SDK for .NET
Developer Tools Blog
This article announces important changes coming to the AWS SDK for .NET regarding the supported .NET Framework versions.
Specifically, the article covers:
- Starting August 15th, 2024, the AWS SDK for .NET will end support for .NET Framework 3.5 and the minimum version will be raised to 4.7.2.
- The motivation is that .NET Framework 3.5 is outdated, and 4.7.2 allows the SDK to use modern .NET features for improved performance and reduced memory footprint.
- Applications that cannot be upgraded can continue using their current SDK version, but new versions after August 15th will not support .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.5.
- Feedback and discussions can be provided on the SDK's GitHub repository.
