Introducing Point in Time queries and SQL/PPL support in Amazon OpenSearch Serverless

AWS has announced new features for Amazon OpenSearch Serverless that enhance data querying and search capabilities:
- Point in Time (PIT) Search: Allows querying a fixed dataset at a specific moment, enabling consistent pagination and search results even as data continues to change
- SQL and Piped Processing Language (PPL) Support: Provides new ways to query data using familiar SQL syntax and PPL
- Key PIT search capabilities include:
- Creating a Point in Time ID for a dataset
- Running multiple queries on a frozen dataset
- Using `search_after` parameter for pagination
- SQL and PPL features allow:
- Querying data using SQL and PPL interfaces
- Supporting aggregations, group by, and where clauses
- Returning data in multiple formats (JDBC, JSON, CSV)
These new features provide more flexible and powerful querying options for OpenSearch Serverless users, simplifying data analysis and search operations.
