Amazon CloudWatch Synthetics now supports the Playwright runtime for creating NodeJS canaries, enhancing web application and API monitoring capabilities.

  • Enables creation of multi-tab workflows and complex user journey monitoring
  • Logs are now stored directly in CloudWatch Logs database for easier querying
  • Supports troubleshooting with log filtering by canary run ID or step name
  • Generates artifacts like reports, metrics, and HAR files even during canary timeouts
  • Simplifies canary configuration through JSON file customization
  • Available in all commercial regions at no additional cost

This update provides developers with more robust and flexible monitoring tools for web applications and APIs.
