Amazon EC2 added New CPU-Performance Attribute for Instance Type Selection
News
Amazon EC2 has enhanced its Attribute-Based Instance Type Selection (ABIS) with a new CPU-performance attribute for more precise instance selection.
- Customers can now specify CPU performance requirements when selecting instance types
- ABIS can automatically select instances that match or exceed a specified baseline CPU performance
- Useful for workloads requiring consistent computational performance
- Supports instance families like C, M, and R with specific vCPU minimums
- Available in all AWS commercial and AWS GovCloud (US) Regions
- Configurable through AWS Management Console, CLI, SDKs, and CloudFormation
This update helps customers optimize instance selection by ensuring consistent CPU performance across diverse instance types, particularly beneficial for Spot Instance users.
